Fedor,
I tell you what if you could have Dmitry add ImageLoadMode to the web control I will go back to it and leave you guys alone :) The only reason I wanted to go to the ajax control is because I can load the entire document in the viewer. This is something that has been requested a lot. Please let me know :)

Chris, We don't have plan to improve Web Controls. We work only over Ajax Controls codebase. For example we plan to release 'Vector Objects Ajax Control' in new version, which allows to build rich multilayer and vector-based editors.
