We have a windows forms app that is using Graphics Mill 3.5. It works correctly on some computers, but it fails to start on others. The machines have identical hardware configurations. However, the .NET 2.0 framework was installed differently on the machines. On the working machine it was installed using the downloaded exe, dotnetfx.exe. On the broken machine it was installed via windows update. We can run a basic "Hello World" .NET 2.0 application on both machines. This application doesn't use the Graphics Mill libraries.

The error we get contains the following details:

Event Type: cl20r3 P1: pip.exe P2: 1.0.0.0 P3: 44469e4a P4: system.windows.forms P5: 2.0.0.0 P6: 4333aefa P7: 1979 P8: 2

Both machines have Windows XP with the lastest Patches and Updates. I have confirmed that both machines have the msvcr71.dll file. Neither machine has had Graphics Mill installed, we are deploying the libraries with our application. We have a valid license key.

Do you have any suggestions for how to troubleshoot this further?

Hello,

Could you explain how you get this error? Is some exception thrown or this error is on Application Log?
Sincerely yours,

We get a dialog box while the application is starting saying that it encountered an error. It appears before the UI of the application is shown.

Hello,

Do you have "Microsoft Picture It!" installed on your computer? Microsoft support tells that this program has some problems with GDI+ ("PIP.EXE has encountered errors and needs to close" error message when you open or edit a template in Picture It!). Aurigma Graphics Mill for .NET has reference to GDI+ via System.Drawing.dll.

Please check this and keep me updated.
Sincerely yours,
Dmitry Sevostyanov

"PIP.EXE" is the name of our program that we compiled with Visual Studio. I can send you a copy of our source code via email if it would help.
