I am testing your supplied code for using both the Java and the ActiveX control. I just had a look under Firefox on a Mac (OS X Tiger 10.4.1). It says click here to download plugin. I try that and it says unknown plugin. Before I start sleuthing just wanted to check that the javascript code and java control should work on Firefox.
