I need to apply this transformation on a 16bpp grayscale bitmap, but it doesn't work. The result is a averaged gray bitmap but not the expected result. Can you confirm it work with such image format ?

Hello,

Yes, histrogram equalize transform works with 16bppGrayscale images. At least it works with our test images and we had not received any bug reports $)

Could you submit case with code sample and your source image? I'll try to help you with this issue.
