Image Printing in Manual Mode

I'm able to print a bitmap that im generating using the ImagePrintDocument class if i set the document Source property to a placeholder, however if i set the PlacementMode to Manual and register the QueryImage event and then inside the event handler i set the same placeholder then only a blank page is printed.

I've verified that the event is called and i am generating the placeholder. I've also tried setting the size of the placeholder specifically.

My goal is to print x number of full page size images.

Are there particular properties i need to set to get manual mode to work?
