Currently, we don't have a specific date of .NET Core version release. However, Graphics Mill relies on the underlying C++ library, which we recently made cross-platform. So, most probably, you should expect Graphics Mill for .NET Core in the middle of 2020.

Is the support of .NET Core critical for you?

BTW, do you need to support .NET Core on Windows only?

The Microsoft team announced the support of the C++/CLI compiler in .NET Core 3.1.

https://devblogs.microso...p-cli-and-dotnet-core-3/

So, most probably we could support .NET Core on Windows pretty soon.

Not imminent, but we are looking to switch over to it. It would still be deployed on Windows

Okay, great. Microsoft promised to release .NET Core 3.1. in December 2019.

We will try to compile the .NET Core version of Graphics Mill as soon as the new compiler is available.

Any timeline update?
We are deciding on updates to our application for Summer development, and would like to take advantage of .net Core/.net 5 (razor/blazor) since that is where all the new features M$ will be putting all the new features and enhancements. .Net Framework is moving to just be bug and security fixes.

Hi Todd,

At the beginning of the year, we found the bug in the C++/CLI compiler and couldn't compile the .NET Core version. However, we worked with the Microsoft support team, and they helped us to find a workaround and compile the working version. However, we still need to adapt some C++ libraries to be supported by the new compiler. So, currently, we plan to release the .NET Core version at the end of Summer.

Any update on when a .Net Core / .Net 5 version will be available? .Net Framework 4.x is moving to bug fixes and security support. New features will be in .Net 5.

Hi Todd,

We develop Graphics Mill actively and built a proof of concept for .NET Core. Graphics Mill is the core of our flagship product Customer's Canvas. So, we will release the .NET core version definitely.

I expect the new major release this year, however, there is no specific date yet.
Best regards,
Fedor Skvortsov

Were are you on .net 5 support? We had been using Aurigma GraphicsMill for all of our imaging needs from simple resizing and overlays, up to PSD and PDF manipulation with spot color. Next week we are going to be moving the simple stuff over to System.Drawing.Common as that can be used with both 4.8 and 5.
Do you know when there will be .net 5 support, or do you know of another graphics package that can handle PSD and PDF that does support 4.8 and 5?

Hi Todd,

We are finishing the version 11 of Graphics Mill and plan to release it this year. The initial release will be available for .NET 4.8 however the support of .NET 5 (Core) should be available shortly. Would you like to become a beta tester of the .NET 5 (Core) version?
Best regards,
Fedor Skvortsov

We have not released the version 11 yet as well as its Core version.

The beta version 11 for .NET Full should be available in the end of January and the final version within Winter. The .NET Core version should be avaialble in a month after the .NET Full version.
Best regards,
Fedor Skvortsov
