PRB: Bad Image Format Exception 0x80131506

Description

You can experience the error when you run your 32-bit Windows application which has references to Graphics Mill x86 assemblies under x64 machine:

System.BadImageFormatException was unhandled
Message: Could not load file or assembly 'Aurigma.GraphicsMill, Version=5.5.4.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=af7154c50c505858' or one of its dependencies.
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.


The problem is caused by incorrect value of the Platform target setting in your project. The Platform targett is set to Any CPU by default.

Resolution

You should change the value to x86. Please follow the steps, if you use C#:

1. open your application in Visual Studio;
2. go to Project tab;
3. open Properties… of your application;
4. go to Build tab;
5. change the Platform target to x86;
6. save your project.
7. recompile the application

If you use Visual Basic, you should:

1. open your application in Visual Studio;
2. go to Project tab;
3. open Properties… of your application;
4. go to Compile tab;
5. Advanced Compile Options…;
6. change the Target CPU to x86;
7. save your project.
8. recompile the application
