Hi,

When the psd is parsed, one of my PsdTextFrames has a few custom metrics that differ from the font defaults. How can i set custom measuring properties ( Ascent and Descent ) on creating a font?

What do you mean to "set custom measuring properties"? Do you need to render the PSD image with 100% match and that's why you need to create the font with the same settings?

You can find a sample of PSD rendering here:

http://www.graphicsmill..../modify-and-merge-layers

If it doesn't work the way you expect please send us a PSD file.

Hey Fedor,

Sorry for the late late reply.

To refer i'm not merging changes. I built an editor which allows each psd layer to be changed, as in raster or text, changing positioning, deleting, font size, font name, and others.

Here you have .psd example, where the text layer that contains the personal info has some properties that change the metrics ( http://puu.sh/hG1Mf/d214d9cc83.png ).

These are the properties from parsing the psd:

( External leading should be 12, right? )

Hi,

The Font structure contains default font metrics. The settings defined in Photoshop can be found in the properties of PsdTextFrame class. For example there is Tracking property in both Font and PsdTextFrame class (see the attached screenshot).

The current version doesn't support the extracting leading settings however I have submitted a bug (#20563) and we will implement it in the further versions. I will keep you informed of the status.

Thanks for your reply Fedor,

So, now it is not possible to render a PSD using AdvancedGraphics and make it look exactly like it?

Yes, it is not possible to render a PSD image exactly like Photoshop does as the format is very complex.

Even though we constantly improve the support of the PSD format. Please let us know a missing functionality and we will research and consider its implementation.
