Hi,

My techs are telling me that they are getting a persmission message from the uploader after updating to Java 7 Update 45 today. I will try to attach screenshots to this post.

The message is "Allow access to the following application from this web site". The user can choose Allow but apparently gets this same message every time they try to upload.

EDIT: I also tried with v8.0.51 and have the same message presented. I presume it has something to do with this change (from the 7.45 changes log):
Quote:
Caller-Allowable-Codebase: This attribute specifies the codebase/locations from which JavaScript is allowed to call Applet classes.

JavaScript to Java calls will be allowed without any security dialog prompt only if:

* JAR is signed by a trusted CA, has the Caller-Allowable-Codebase manifest entry and JavaScript runs on the domain that matches it.
* JAR is unsigned and JavaScript calls happens from the same domain as the JAR location.

The JavaScript to Java (LiveConnect) security dialog prompt is shown once per Applet classLoader instance

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, we are aware about this issue. I expect we will release an update on the next week which will include this attribute.

However I forsee a problem with it - it means that now Oracle requires us to hardcode the URL to the directory with a page where the applet is used. So it will be required to store the .jar file in a particular folder relatively the page with the applet.

Will adding "Caller-Allowable-Codebase: *" to the manifest work?

Fortunately, the wildcard works. The updated version will be available tomorrow.

The update is available. Download the version 8.0.52 (or later, when they will appear) from the same location as always:

No sure if this is the exact thing related to this issue, but I got an error when using a site for work that uses the Upload Suite after I upgraded to Mavericks.

Included is a picture of the message and the information from the Java Console that I ran.

It is not related to 7u45, but related to the latest Safari. See this topic:

I had the Java7u45 problem with Uploader 8.0.48, so I updated the component to 8.0.54 but it seems that the problem is still here.
Do I have to put the jar file in a specific folder, as said in a previous post ? Or is there something else to do ?

To update it, you should replace .jar file and all Aurigma's .js files (instead of old ones). If you don't remember where exactly the .jar file should be located, just check the JavaScript with the uploader settings. The URL to the .jar file is specified in the codebase param.

If you are unsure what version is loaded, open the Java console log. When the Java Uploader shows up, it displays its version in the console.

If you still have any problems with it, please create a support ticket and describe the problem a bit more detailed (including screenshots, etc).
