SymptomsWhen you open a page with Java uploader or downloader, you see Missing plug-in message instead of the Java applet. This problem may occur on Mac OS X in Safari or Firefox browsers. ReasonMissing plug-in message means that a proper version of Java plug-in is not installed. You can make sure what Java is installed (and whether it even installed) using the Test Java Page: http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jspSolutionTo install the proper Java plug-in, follow these steps: 1. Click the Missing plug-in message. 2. Click the More Info button on the Missing Plug-in dialog. 3. Follow instructions on the Java installation page. 4. Important: Restart your browser. If you use Safari and see Inactive plug-in message, you need to activate the plug-in: 1. Click the Inactive plug-in message 2. Choose Allow in pop-up window. Note: you can also use the Verify Java Version page to follow these steps:
http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
You can give this URL to your end users in the help materials of your site.Q: Java plug-in is installed, but I still see this message! If have Java 7 installed, but the applet still does not appear, it may mean that Java content is disabled in the browser. To do it, you should open Java Preferences->Security tab and make sure that Enable Java content in the browser checkbox is set. Edited by moderator Friday, August 26, 2016 6:12:56 AM(UTC)
