We have customers which are using Image Uploader to upload hundreds of 1024x768 images in one batch. Of course, they are complaining it takes too long ( and it should ). Would compressing the images before sending them, per image or in one archive file, improve transfer times? I realize that on the server side, the script would have to handle uncompressing the data. "zlib" is a nice standard.

If the images don't have to be full resolution once uploaded you can have ImageUploader resize the uploaded image to whatever size you choose. That's what we do. If the images have to be full size and are jpg's you aren't going to be able to compress them much more if any. Stephen
