Hello,

I have a bug in the interface, some photos in the folderpane disappear.

I'm using Firefox 3.6.13 and windows XP.

Could you guide me on a solution please?

Sincerely yours.

Hello Laetitia,

I tried to reproduce your problem on my test machine with Windows XP. However, I could not get the same effect as you did. I tested Image Uploader 7 Basic demo in Firefox 3.6.13/Windows XP. I have installed the latest Java update (1.6.23).

 1. Please let me know version number of Java installed on the machine where the problem occurs; if you have not the latest update, please have it.

 2. Clarify whether this problem happens on one particular computer, or on several ones;

 3. Provide me with Java console dump;

 4. Try our Basic Demo sample, and let me know about your results.

Looking forward to reply from you.

Best regards,

Dmitry Obukhov

Hello Dimitry,

1. My version of Java installed is 1.6.0_24.

2. We have the problem in 2 computers on 6.

3. I have nothing with Java console.

4. With Basic Demo sample, results are identicals.

Sincerely yours.

Hello Laetitia,

Unfortunately, I still could not reproduce this problem on our XP machine. I have to ask you additional information on it. Please let me know the following:

 1. whether this problem occurs every time as you load Image Uploader page;

 2. try to change view mode to tiles, and then change back to thumbnails. Are there some changes in user interface?

 3. whether you experience the problem with other images which are different from those on screen shots? Could you please provide me with several images you test?

 4. do you face the issue on non-XP computers (Windows Vista/ 7)?

Best regards,

Dmitry Obukhov

Laetitia,

I am sorry for this inconvenience. Unfortunately, we cannot define the reason of this issue, therefore just collect necessary information to investigate what causes the problem. And we need your cooperation since we cannot reproduce it locally.

Please make three tests, and report me about results:

 • Test #1. Try to add images from folder pane to upload pane. Does the problem happen in upload pane?

 • Test #2. Set showFileNameInThumbnailsView property to false value. Then reload Image Uploader page. The problem occurs?

 • Test #3. Set previewSize property to another value (e.g. 110). Check the page with Image Uploader.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards,

Hello Laetitia,

Thank you very much for performing the tests, and attached screen shots. Unfortunately, it did not shed the light on the problem. It is strange issue. Java console is empty, and cannot help.

Nevertheless, I tested my local sample in our test lab once again trying to reproduce this issue. But, I have no luck to get the same problem. Since then Image Uploader 7 was released, we did not get any similar complaints from our other users.

Our Image Uploader Java engineer has been aware of this problem. Unfortunately, we have no thoughts yet why it occurs.

Just one way you should try is to re-install Java completely. Please open Control Panel -> Add and Remove programs -> uninstall Java -> go to http://java.com/en/ -> download new Java version -> install it on the machine. Then try to test Image Uploader, and let me know what you get. Hoping it can help.

Best regards,

Laetitia,

First thank you so much for your cooperation and patience. This is just unique case, which requires extra information from you. Thus, I have to ask you about new testing.

 1. Please clarify whether you set width of Java applet in % or px. If you specify it in %, please set width value to pixels, test Image Uploader, and report about it.

 2. Try to test other Java-enabled browsers (Google Chrome, Opera, Safari).

 3. Please let me know detailed information on your Windows XP where the problem occurs.

Sorry for this inconvenience.

Hello Laetitia,

Sorry for the delay.

I was working on your problem yesterday. I have tried to replicate the issue testing Image Uploader on our test machine with Windows XP, and on different virtual XP machines as well. I have got no problems with interface. I tested several virtual machines with different configurations. Image Uploader looked perfectly everywhere.

Now we cannot investigate the reason of the issue to resolve it, and assist you. As I already wrote, we have never got any similar complaints from our other clients. I assume that the problem takes place, our users would contact us. The fact that we cannot reproduce it locally complicates the investigation of the problem.

Nevertheless, we will keep trying to replicate the problem in our test lab, track users’ contacting to find something like you experience. And, let you know without fail, if we find anything that could help to resolve the UI issue.

Best regards,

Dmitry Obukhov
