In reviewing the documentation for the new 7.x version we need to confirm some things. 1) Ability to DISABLE ALL activex versions. We do not want any use of this by clients/users. We ONLY wish to use the Java applet on the client side regardless of user platform and regardless of browser. Only the java applet is to be used. The commands to disable activex ActiveXControlEnabled has been eliminated How is this done now? ? We do not want activex to be used ever period. Java only on all clients. 2) We require the photos to be uploaded in a SPECIFIC order that is selected by the user. This is mission critical that this order be maintained on the upload. Using the ThreePanes Layout on 6.x ensured that the the files were uploaded in the order selected or the order in the upload pane if the user rearranged them by drag/drop. Does V7.x maintain this operation? Example: 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg 6.jpg 7.jpg is a directory In order I pick 2.jpg, 1.jpg, 6.jpg, 4.jpg Thus thumbnail 1 = 2.jpg, thumbnail 2=1.jpg etc.. Having the files ordered by the filename is not useable. The files have to be passed to the upload handler in the order they were selected. This is critical to business operations. We also need to mantain the ability for the users to re-arrange the selected photos prior to being uploaded and this order be maintained. Please confirm this operation is still present in V7.x We currently use this on our licensed versions of 6.x. We look forward to answers on these critical issues, so we can plan for upgrades to V7.x. Thanks.

Hello Carla, Thank you for posting your questions. - There is another property now, which allows setting Java applet only. Please read additional information on using this property in the HOWTO: Use Image Uploader 7 Java applet only article.
Quote: Using the ThreePanes Layout on 6.x ensured that the the files were uploaded in the order selected or the order in the upload pane if the user rearranged them by drag/drop. Does V7.x maintain this operation? The answer is yes. Image Uploader 7 sends the files in the same order as they were added to the upload pane.
If you have any additional questions or problems, please feel free to let me know. |
