I am looking to determine if we can use the Watermark function of IU V6.1.x Java control only. (We are 100% Linux server systems.)

The idea is that the EXIF (meta data) contains info we would like to OPTIONALLY watermark the THUMBNAIL image, we only send the resized thumbnail to our server. We would have a button to allow this to be activated by the client/user on their side when its needed.

The control would extract the EXIF data that we need, only need specific parts of it, and then watermark the thumbnail and upload.

Or is this only possible on the server side via php and Imagemagick after upload?

Clients would be using the Java applet only, and would be a mix of users on Linux, mac and win using a mix of Konqueror 3.5.x & 4.x, FF, safari, IE 6.x/7.x/8.x, and possibly some chrome (although we don't test or certify its use.)

Server is strictly LINUX LAMP using PHP 5.2.x (we don't use 5.3.x branch due to incompatibilities with our software), and possibly ECMAScipt(js).

Any changes if IU V7.x is used, Java applet only.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, the feature you described is impossible. You can extract EXIF data on the server side only.
