As far as you know, new update of Firefox (3.6.12) was released last week. We got several complaints from our Mac users after that.

The clients experienced the following problems:

  1. redirecting during upload, and getting the message: "The server attempted to redirect, but server redirects are not supported".

  2. could not add files using custom upload pane.

We have reproduced these problems in our test lab, and found that Image Uploader (5th, and 6th versions) had strange behavior with the new update of Firefox on Macs – JavaScript code was not triggered by the Uploader.

As for a workaround, it is necessary to add these lines at the top of page with Image Uploader:

<script type="text/javascript">
  // Fix LiveConnect bug in Firefox on Mac OS.
  // By unknown reason java code can't call
  // javascript code, until we call java code
  // from javascript.
  // Put this code in the page header.
  if (/mac/i.test(navigator.platform) && /gecko/i.test(navigator.product) && ('java' in window)) {

New Image Uploader 7 will be free of this issue.
