Can ImageUploader submit the whole form?

Currently, the ImageUploader works by sending the file data to an URL and then redirecting to another url once the upload is complete.

Doing it this way, one does not have access to the other form variables when the user clicks upload / send.

Is it possible to get ImageUploader to submit the whole form and do a regular http post, as if a form submit button had been clicked? Maybe some way of overriding the send click event and submitting the whole form instead using javascript?
