I have a user that when she tries to upload, is getting the following error message:

"Image uploader encountered some problem. If you see this message, contact webmaster."

It's not a very helpful error message. She's the only person that I know of that has received this message.

She's running Windows XP, IE 7.0.5730.11

Any suggestions on what's going on, or how to fix it?

This is a so-called "user-friendly" message. To have Image Uploader to display more detailed error message set the ShowDebugWindow param to true and ask the user to reproduce the problem again.

Also, it would be helpful to ask that user the following questions:

1. Does it occur during each upload or from time to time? If second, does it depend on the files the user selects?

2. Is there any sort of firewall or proxy?

3. If it is possible, try to upload throw Java version (on Firefox) and if it fails, send us a Java console output (step-by-step instructions how to get information from Java console is described in documentation article Using Java Console).

Please submit case with all this information.

The ShowDebugWindow is already set to true. That's all the message shows.

I have a second person who has run into this problem. If they run IE, that's the error they get.

If they use Firefox, they get the following message: The server attempted to redirect you, but server redirects are not supported.

I've contacted the second person (who seems to be fairly computer literate) and asked them to do a java console dump. I'll post it here when I get it.

Hello,

Code "11" is a "redirection code". It occurs when an upload processing script tries to redirect user on to other page. (For example, if the cookies were lost, but web site needs an authorization for each user, the script will redirect user on to main login page).

Use this link for resolving the issue:
"HTTP-only cookies problem...".

Best regards,

I'm sorry, but I'm confused.

The page that you have linked me to is for Firefox only. This problem is occurring in both Internet Explorer AND Firefox.

And if it was a problem with cookies/redirection, wouldn't it be happening to everyone? I've only got 2 people out of thousands that this is happening to. Besides which, we already explicitly attach the session name in the redirect URL (sname=whatever in the java console code) -- there's no possible way that a session could be "lost".

I'm still having problems with this issue. Do you have any other ideas?
