I'm evaluating and the product have passed our expectation, except for 2 issues:

1.
We need to have the files uploaded sorted on client users filename.
Curently we get them on last modified date (I think).

We do not upload the source file, only thumbnail1 and 2 - using the resizing possibility.

On the Forum I have seen that from version 2 there should be a sorting facility, but I can't find anything it in the documentation.

2.
I see that you keep the EXIF-information in version 3 - we will need that too.
When will version 3 be available?

Regards from Denmark

Hello Erik,

Image Uploader does not allow specifying upload order explicitly. If you use detailed view, you can sort a file list by name, date modified, size, etc, however it is part of user interface (not a facility for upload order).

I am not sure how exactly Image Uploader arranges files during upload (if you want, I can ask the developer), however I can assume that it uploads in the same order as files are positioned in the upload list (if you use 3-panes layout). So you could try to specify detailed view for the upload list and sort by necessary criteria manually...

By the way, if it is not a secret, why upload order is important to you?

Image Uploader beta should be available after weekends. This version is EXIF-friendly:
  1. EXIF is preserved.
  2. You can make Image Uploader to extract EXIF data during upload. In other words, you specify what EXIF fields you want to get, and Image Uploader submits them along with other data (as description, rotation angle, etc). This way you may get rid of necessity to have server-side EXIF data parser.
Hope this helps.

No secret, I just need to present the pictures in the same sequence as they were taken by a digital camera, even if the user has done some corrections on one or more pictures (changing the modify date of the file).

I could do the sorting myself if I had access to the original file names thumbnail1_n relations from the server program receiving the pictures.

Erik

You do have an access to the file names of the original image.

Image Uploader sends files in the same way as HTML element. In particular it uploads original file name (with path) to server. All the server-side uploaders which can handle HTTP POST requests are able to extract this filename.

E.g. is you are using ASP.NET, View post. For ASP, you can View post. Otherwise please tell me what server platform you are using.
