Resize image only if it's bigger than X byte

And if it's less than 1mb, than just upload the image without resizing. I know there is the UploadThumbnail1CompressOversizedOnly property but it only works in ActiveX right? I need it to work for Java too. Any tips on how to do it? Thanks, Ferry
