Hi,

I hope you can assist as the following problems are killing our business.

Problem #1: in Uploader 5.x, when we try to upload portrait images that are resized, it often takes forever to 'prepare' the image, and then continues to upload the full resolution image. I was hoping 5.5 would resolve this, but it did not. I did contact support for the issue when 5.0 was introduced but was told that the development team would get to it some day.

I can replicate the problem on your demo site consistently as well. If you need some test images, please contact me (I'll try to attach them here)

For the time being we switched back to ImageUploader 2 for Java, which worked great until FireFox 3 was released.

Many users, Mac and PC, now report that black images are being uploaded once every while. This only occurs when they resize the images prior to upload. On the server we get the right sized image, but all pixels are black, and the bit-depth is 1 as well.

In short, people using the Java uploader cannot use it effectively right now.

Thank you for your prompt assistance.

Donovan

Hello Donovan,

Have you repeated this problem on Mac now? I have just uploaded it from PC (FF 3.0.1, Java version 6 update 7) and it works perfectly for me.

Best regards,

Fedor Skvortsov

I should note that the small thumbnails seems to upload fine with the demo (though the first image is very dark for me), but when I click on the images, the first two files display the icon instead of the files.

Hi Fedor,

Yes, I can reproduce it on the Mac. We have had some complaints from PC users regarding this issue as well, but it seems intermittent there. On the Mac I can reproduce it on every mac in the office (all 8). It is in all different versions of OS X, and with FF2 and FF3.

If you like, I can create a video of what's happening.

Donovan

Hello Donovan,

Thanks for the report.

Could you provide me with the access to your site where you experience the problem with Image Uploader Java 5.5? It will allow us to reproduce the problem and fix it in timely manner.

You can send link to your site and credentians via PM or our support system.

Sincerely yours,

Dmitry Sevostyanov

Is there any solution to the problem? We are encountering the same issue with some MAC machines.

Thanks,

Yuval

Hello,

Please, upgrade to version 5.5.6. The problem with black thumbnails was resolved there.

Sincerely yours,

Dmitry Sevostyanov
