HOWTO: Prolong Image Uploader 5 evaluation period

Since version 5.0 Image Uploader requires trial license keys to test-drive the trial version (except for localhost). This article describes what to do if the evaluation period has been expired but you need to evaluate it some more time.

Overview

Trail license key is not associated with any domain name or IP address and allows uploading files to any web sites. It also does not constrain the functionality of Image Uploader, nevertheless it puts the following limitations on its usage:

• Every time you send files to a server you get the following message:
  
  Code:

  This is a trial version. It can be used in evaluation process only.

• You can use Image Uploader with a trial license key during the 60 days evaluation period only.

However, this period can expire before you complete evaluation of Image Uploader, or when you are using an evaluation version for the development purposes. In this case you would like to know how to prolong the evaluation period. This article describes how to do it.

Resolution

When Image Uploader stops uploading because of the end of evaluation period, follow these steps:

1. Download Image Uploader SDK package (ImageUploader.exe file) from here;
2. Open a source code of one of the distributed code samples (e.g. Basic Demo Sample which is typically located at C:\Program Files\Aurigma\Image Uploader 5.0 Dual\Samples\ASPNET_CS\Default.aspx);
3. Find the code line that sets the trial license key;
4. Copy this line to your script that embeds Image Uploader into the page.

This way you will be able to continue working with Image Uploader until the evaluation period of the new trial keys expires.

Note! If you have purchased Image Uploader and use an evaluation version for development, but limitations of evaluation version are not acceptable for you, please contact us for getting development license keys.
