How can I select all of the text in a text field when I click on it so when I start to type the contents are overwritten?

Unfortunately, Customer's Canvas doesn't support this feature. I will have a talk with our development team on whether it could be done in coming releases. Julia

Hi Marty,
Could you please clarify where you want to select text automatically (in the Object Inspector or on the canvas)?

Kate I think on the left side when you click on the text but I suppose it could be enables in all three locations. What do you think? Marty
