In the upload pane, it says 'drop files here..'

can that text be changed to something else? It seems as though the text changes somewhat depending on the browser. Chrome, IE and FF show 'drop files here...' and in safari is says 'add files here..'

It is possible but in this version you have to use a workaround. View this post for details:

http://forums.aurigma.co...iles-here.aspx#post28490

It has been fixed in the upcoming version where you will be able to use dropFilesHereText property which may accept an arbitrary HTML or DOM element.

Regarding the different text for Mac and Windows - we took this behavior from Java uploader, but perhaps we will remove it to make things simpler. If you would like to have different text for different OS/browser, it is quite easy to do it in the code.

thanks, i'll try that.

In the post that you linked to you mentioned the next version will have more options and you said it might be ready in the next week or so. That was 19 days ago. Is there any update on when this new version will be available? Is this an update to 8.x or is this going to be version 9?

Thanks

It is already implemented. So it will definitely appear in the next 8.1.x. All we need to test it, finish code examples and create SDK package. In case of Upload Suite it is quite large job. Unfortunately it came out of schedule because of some circumstances, but this is priority number one now.

cool - so do you think this will be ready for release within the next say 2 weeks? A month? We're in the process of implementing the uploader now. So if this new update is something that's going to be ready fairly soon it might be worth for us to wait a week or two and then work with the update.

Thanks

ok thanks. Will code written for the current version of the html5 uploader still work? if so I can go ahead and keep implementing the current uploader. If it's any breaking changes, i might hold off until this update is released.

Thanks again

Yes, all minor updates are always backward compatible. The only change you may want to do is to get rid of the workarounds and use the standard way when it is available.

In addition to this workaround (soon to become property) will/is there a way to change the text for "add folder" if implementing the folderProcessingMode? I would actually like to hide it all including the comma. It would be nice if the whole top pane was optional (I suppose you could hide the class au-upldr-top-pane) but is there a better way?

thanks

You can completely hide the top pane since the version 8.5.9. See this demo:
