Hi,

I haven't signed code previously and am a bit confused on what I need. It appears that both Verisign and Thawte have separate certificates for Windows and Java code. Since the Uploader is available in both an ActiveX and a Java version would I need a certificate for each? I am currently only planning to use the Java version so would I just need a certificate to sign a java version?

Also, I have noticed that Comodo offers a much less expensive certificate that supposedly will sign both microsoft and java code. Are they a valid alternative to Verisign and Thawte? Can I use a Comodo certificate to sign the private label version of the uploader?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

To complete your private label build you will need to get Microsoft Authentocide code signing certificate only.

We usually recommend our customers to get this certificate through Verisign or Thatwe as they are trusted vendors. To be honest I don't remember if any of our customers got the certificate through Comodo, so unfortunately I cannot advise.

No need to purchase separate certificate for each control, single certificate is enough as Microsoft Authenticode certificate is multipurpose.
