We have been using the Moonlight 2.1 codec for a long time as that has been stable, but due to licensing issues, we are now being forced to upgrade to the Elecard 4.x codecs. The InfoRetreiver sample application will run just fine, but when called from our web application, the pages just hang, and either the dllhost or the w3wp process takes over, depending on the server system in use.

As soon as I uninstall the 4.x codec and re-install 2.1, everything runs fine. What can be done to get this resolved?

Hello Carlin,

It sounds this is some codec-related problem. We will try to take a look at this problem, but if there is a bug in Elecard codec, we cannot guaranty that it will work.

By the way, as far as I remember, you are using ASP.NET as your website platform, right? If so, try to download Graphics Mill for .NET:

There is an additional module called Media Processor which can do the same. To check whether it will work with your codecs, run the MediaDemo sample application. If it is able to work with your files, it means that it will be fine for you. If you get some specific error message, please submit case.
