I'm trying use the image uploader launched from one of our Citrix applications, but the activex control won't install when launched as a standard user. As an administrator, it loads up fine, but obviously we don't wish to give our users administrative rights to our citrix servers.

I've tried installing as administrator first then running as a standard user, but it seems the activex control is profile specific. All activex settings for IE are wipe open, so that shouldn't be holding it back either.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Any way to manually install the control?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

Internet Explorer starting from version 7 supports so-called Non-Admin ActiveX Controls, this feature allows installing controls by non-admin users. The current version of Image Uploader supports this feature, so using Image Uploader 7 and Internet Explorer 7 (and later) you are free of this problem.

If you are not willing to upgrade your Image Uploader, the only thing you can try is to pre-install standalone version of Image Uploader using rights elevation.

Sincerely yours,

Dmitry Sevostyanov
