Hi guys,

We are upgrading our software to v4.0

No problems with ActiveX or Java using Windows for IE and FF.

However there is an issue with FF using Mac OSX (all the latest updates have been installed). We are using v2.0 Java.

I'll detail the process:

* Go to page to upload
* No issue with selecting images and selecting upload. BUT - when i drag the photos down the the upload area it still says 0 files are selected at the top of the page
* if I click upload - I get a positive response that uploaded is complete BUT images are not added to gallery pages

When our IT guys looked into in the Java console they said:

well, seems there is using different applets for Win and MacOs, because I see in the console absolutely another - Java Plug-in 1.5.0_09
Using JRE version 1.5.0_09 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

Any idea of what is going wrong here?

Thanks

SP

Hello,

I have tried to reproduce your problem on our Mac but failed. Try to use our standard samples and write in more details how to reproduce the problem and what was written on the Java console.

Hello,

In your case the problem is shown in the following lines:

Code:
Reading additional form content
Error occurred while processing additional form
null
Uploading to http

These lines say that you have added applet or any other non-form element inside the <FORM> </FORM> block. So move it from this block and the main problem will be fixed.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the reply. We had our IT guys take a look at what you said (for nearly the whole day) however we are still having issues. We even went to link of yours:

http://www.aurigma.com/Products...nlineDemo.aspx#UserQuota

When I did and selected 2 images - the text:

Select up to 10 files for upload.

0 files are selected.

didn't change immediately (ie count does not increase). However strangely enough - if you leave it for a minute or so - click say to desktop and then return it does. Or another way to make it change is hold down your left mouse key, mouse over the text i mentioned above and for some reason that updates the count. Also when I choose an image - the selecting of the tick box takes about 3-4 seconds to become selected (unlike on Safari where it is perfect).

Unfortunately it very hard to explain this without seeing it - but could you another look on your Mac using FF to see if you can't duplicate this issue (I'm using FF 2.0 running Mac OS X and the latest version).

We are not experiencing any issue on the Windows platform (using IE or FF).

Also if I use Safari I do NOT experience any issues either. It is just FF 2.0 on Mac OS X

Thanks

SP

Hi Alex,

what is the final thought on this topic? Cause I'm experiencing kind of same issue with Netscape and Firefox on Mac. Everything seems to be fine with Safari!

Thanks!
Phil

Hello Phil,

You should try to download the last version of Image Uploader for Java from our site. The new version should solve the Firefox on Mac problem.
Sincerely yours,
Alex Makhov

I have a worse problem than just an image count not updating -
Firefox on Mac is crashing completely during or at the end of upload.

I have the (large) FF crashreport if you want to see it , but at the moment it's VERY bad for my customers when their whole browser crashes.

Hello,

Usually the reason of such kind of problems is incorrect JavaScript-ImageUploader communication. Try to debug your code and check if the problem is still there after disabling all listeners and so on. Also, I would like to see the error log whatever length is it.
Sincerely yours,
Alex Makhov

Hi Alex,

It has nearly been 2 months since we last spoke - just wondering if this issue with FF on Mac has been corrected?

Thanks

Hello,

There were some problems with additional form processing which could be the reason of some problems. This issue has been fixed in the last version of Image Uploader for Java 2.1.60.0 available to be downloaded from our site so get it and check if any of your problems are still there.
Sincerely yours,
Alex Makhov

Hi Alex,

We just upgraded to the latest version (April 2007) and can confirm that the uploading of images works fine on Mac OS X 10.4+ using FF v2.0+. Great stuff!

The only thing that still is not working correctly in FF on Mac is:

* No issue with selecting images and selecting upload. BUT - when i drag the photos down the the upload area it still says 0 files are selected at the top of the page

Not a big deal but would be great if Aurigma could look at this minor issue for their next update because for Windows it is fine for all browsers including FF.

Thanks

Shawn

Hi Alex,

Another thing we have noticed when we upgraded to the latest aurigma uploader version. When I went to use the uploader with FF on my Powerbook G4 Mac it all started to work well however became stuck as it wouldn't show the 2 panes. I had to hit the refresh key (then it worked fine).

Using my older G4 iMac same thing again but it ended up crashing the iMac. Re-booted and then was no issue.

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this?

Thanks

Hi Alex,

Another thing with Mac OS 10.4+ and FF 2.0+ - trying to view images from an album within iPhoto that had 92 x 3Mb images. It took about 15 minutes to load the top pane so that I can see all 92 images. Has anyone else experienced this same issue? Or will this be fixed in v4.5 that you plan to release this week?

Thanks

Hello,

There are a lot of problem fixes in Image Uploader Dual 4.5 which we are going to release today or tomorrow so please get this last version and check if any of your problems are still there.
