HOWTO: Upgrading from Image Uploader 4.x Dual

Aurigma Image Uploader 5.0 Dual has a number of changes since Aurigma Image Uploader 4.5 Dual. It supports much more features and API improvements, including backward incompatible ones. Also, one of the important changes is that both ActiveX and Java parts have the same version numbers.

This topic discusses how to upgrade from Aurigma Image Uploader 4.5 Dual to Aurigma Image Uploader 5.0 Dual.

Changes in Image Uploader Licensing

Image Uploader since version 5.0 requires a trial license key to evaluate it. Refer the How to Evaluate Image Uploader topic to find the detailed information about trial license keys.

Steps to Update Image Uploader

In short, you should follow these steps to upgrade from Aurigma Image Uploader 4.5 Dual to Aurigma Image Uploader 5.0 Dual:

1. Copy new Image Uploader files to the server: ImageUploader5.cab, ImageUploader5.jar, and iuembed.js.
2. Make sure that codebase settings of ActiveX and Java versions are configured properly (i.e. they are pointing to the CAB file and the folder with JAR file).
3. Review Image Uploader members you are using and make sure that they do not belong to the obsolete members list. If so, change your code to reflect changes in API. Breaking changes of API are described later in this topic.
4. Update the full license key. Contact sales@aurigma.com for all license upgrade questions.

• UploadThumbnail1FallbackMode was replaced to UploadThumbnail1CompressionMode;
• UploadThumbnail2FallbackMode was replaced to UploadThumbnail2CompressionMode;
• UploadThumbnail3FallbackMode was replaced to UploadThumbnail3CompressionMode;
• UploadThumbnailFallbackMode was replaced to UploadThumbnailCompressionMode.
